Presenter: Lindsay Pope Trustee Support Lindsay’s President of the Estate & Tax Planning Council, a member of the Purposeful Planning Institute and the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Following our March 2017 Professional Development Days, many members in the survey asked for further information on the upcoming changes proposed to NZ Trust law.

In response to those requests, Lindsay Pope of Trustee Support will take us through the proposed draft of the Trusts Bill and share his observations and the opportunities he sees for advisers from a 40-year background in the trust’s space.

For those who register, I will send prior to the webinar a marked up version of parts of the Trust Bill. Lindsay in his webinar will refer to these parts and take you through the key obligations of this reform of Trust law, with implications for both trustees and advisers.

Webinar Objectives
• Improve adviser understanding of the implications of a new Trusts Act
• Increase awareness of what advisers and their clients need to be thinking about
• Identify opportunities for advisers to engage with their trust clients

Webinar Content
• A high-level overview of the key provisions of the draft Trusts Bill
• Consider the implications of the Act for Trustees and Beneficiaries
• Highlight other estate planning
