This webinar is a CPD requirement for those who are Supervisors and Supervised applicants for CFPCM AND CLUCM status. (IFA Certification Committee resolution 22 Feb 2018)

The IFA supervision process for practitioner members is based on international best practice. The reporting format covers a range of activities and skills that are requirements.

The process is designed to ensure Practitioner Members have broad experience and competence in delivering financial services.

Separate reporting formats are set down for members working towards the CLUCM designation, and those aiming for the CFPCM professional mark.

Under the supervision process, a Practitioner member
(a) works with an approved supervisor for 12 months, or
(b) provides a portfolio of evidence showing suitable experience gained over the previous three years.

The Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA) recognises the importance of work experience for someone looking to become a Certified Life Underwriter (CLUCM) risk planning professional or a CFPCM Professional.

We believe engaging in supervised practice is the most effective method of gaining professional experience. IFA documents guide Supervisors and Practitioner Members on the implementation and assessment of the supervised experience component of the Institute’s requirements for CFPCM and CLUCM certification.

When the IFA supervision process has been completed the Supervisor, the Practitioner Member (Supervisee) and the IFA will have a detailed record of the member’s practical experience. (The Supervised Work Experience Portfolio).
